County jail wardens: Padded cells are not the place for those with mental illnesses
County prison officials find themselves questioning the morality of holding inmates who are suffering from mental illnesses. The wardens of Montour and Columbia County prisons said they are too often the destination for individuals who have been criminally charged for incidents at Danville State Hospital or Geisinger Medical Center.
