County jail board weighs paying expert in curbing suicides
Seven inmates have killed themselves at Allegheny County Jail in the past three years, but a proposal to spend a small fraction of a multimillion-dollar fund to assess suicide prevention at the Downtown lockup was stalled last week by the judge who leads the facility's oversight board.
