Major Gifts & Development Manager


We are seeking a Part-Time Major Gifts & Development Manager to work with our team and bring the Prison Society to a new level of engagement and donor cultivation.  We seek to grow, inspire, and deepen our supporter and donor communities so that we can continue to expand, impact, and grow our programming. Field Organizer Opening Coming Soon!

Are you interested in the State Director position but may not meet all the qualifications? The Prison Society is planning to onboard two Prison Monitoring Organizers in 2021, one for Eastern Pennsylvania and another for Western Pennsylvania. The Organizers will work with the State Director and engage directly with volunteers and prison officials across the Commonwealth. If you are a more junior organizer and passionate about criminal justice and how men and women are treated while they are incarcerated, this may be the position for you.

Internships (Unpaid)

Summer 2021 Internships


The Prison Society is now accepting applications for Summer 2021 internships. To apply, all applicants must send a resume and cover letter to Internships are unpaid with a 10 hour/week minimum requirement. We encourage interns to apply for funding or credit through their university. There are no major requirements for internships.


The Prison Society offers three types of internships:

  • General Internship

  • Journalism Internship

  • Communications and Development Internship
