The Pennsylvania Run-a-thon is the largest single prisoner volunteer effort in the world. Each year thousands of dollars are raised and donated to charities that help at-risk youth.

Registration to volunteer, make a financial donation or sponsor a prison will begin again in June 2005. Please come back then!

"I think about my children everyday-I think about their future. I think about my own mistakes, and I want a better future for them."
--SCI Muncy runner

Other outstanding prison efforts include SCI Frackville, contributing $2,433 dollars to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Schuylkill County; SCI Rockview raising approximately $1,700; and Camp Hill that also raised approximately $1,700.

The 24th Pennsylvania Prison Run-A-Thon annual fundraiser was attended by 2,000 inmates and raised $17,000 for their respective charities.

The Prison Society would like to recognize the dedication of the runners and committee members, as well as the hard work of the prison staff, that make the events happen.
