Ending Solitary: Advocating for Human Rights in PA's Correctional System
Solidarity Not Solitary, Lewisburg Prison Project, and Central PA United host this virtual event discuss the use of solitary confinement in PA.

Join us on May 15 at 7:00 pm for a virtual collaboration among Solidarity Not Solitary, Lewisburg Prison Project, and Central PA United to discuss the use of solitary confinement in PA - and how the UN defines it as “torture” and should never be used in any correctional setting.

Solidarity Not Solitary opposes long-term solitary confinement and its use on vulnerable groups, aligning with the UN's view that such confinement is torture. In Pennsylvania, where thousands suffer extended solitary periods, Solidarity Not Solitary, led by those with personal experience, pushes for legislative change to end this practice. The Lewisburg Prison Project, founded in 1973 by concerned citizens of Lewisburg, ensures the humane and lawful operation of local prisons, steadfastly upholding the human and constitutional rights of incarcerated individuals.
